The Department of Library and Information Studies is pleased to announce that Nora Bird will be joining the faculty in the 2007 fall semester. She is currently a PhD candidate at Rutgers University in the Department of Information and Library Studies. She received her MLIS from Simmons College, and holds a BA in Biology from Boston University. Currently, she is a lecturer at Rutgers, and previously held an adjunct faculty position at Southern Connecticut State University.
Nora Bird was a librarian at Gateway Community College, and the public services librarian and director of the library at Teikyo Post University. Utilizing her undergraduate background, she served as head of reference at Harvard’s Cabot Science Library as well as the assistant science librarian for chemistry and chemical engineering in the science library at MIT.
