Get involved in the LIS profession. Consider joining some of these Professional Associations! The Department of Library and Information Studies encourages students to join both student organizations like LISSA and professional organizations dedicated to enhancing the library field. Numerous professional associations serve the needs of a vast spectrum of information professionals. Association conferences offer an opportunity for students to participate in the library field and allow students to make valuable connections.
