Chow and Croxton get Accepted by top Library Journal

anthony_chow2rebecca-croxtonLIS assistant professor Anthony Chow and TEHE/LIS doctoral student Becky Croxton’s manuscript entitled, “A Usability Evaluation of Academic Virtual Reference Services” was just accepted for publication by College & Research Libraries (CRL) widely considered the top practitioner and number two academic journal in the LIS field.

Their work followed 31 graduate and undergraduate students who tested five virtual reference services at UNCG and Chapel Hill libraries. The use of online chat was found to be significantly more preferred and higher in efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction across all users and all demographic factors than all other virtual reference service mediums (email, video conferencing, telephone, and text messaging).
