Application Procedures
What follows is a list of items you must submit in order for your application to the Graduate School and the LIS Department to be complete. For General Information about applying to UNCG’s Graduate School, click here.
There is also information about housing and transportation at the bottom of the page.
To be submitted to the Graduate School:
- Application to the Graduate School that is completed and submitted online.
- Three letters of reference (Use the Request for Recommendations form)
- One Copy of all Transcripts
- GRE Scores

To be included in the online application:
- Personal Statement:
Please include in your application a brief personal statement indicating why you have decided to enter the library profession, your professional goals, and why you have chosen this program. - Resume:
Please include a professional resume in your application packet.

Application Deadlines:
- For Fall 2011: March 31st
- For Spring 2012: October 1st
Financial Aid and Assistantships:
To apply for Financial Aid, you must fill out a FAFSA.
To apply for a Graduate Assistantship, complete the application and submit to the LIS Department as instructed on the application.
