Distance Education: Charlotte
In addition to the program offered on the main campus of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the department offers the degree program on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The distance learning program offered on UNCC’s campus is structured to fit the needs of working adult students. Courses offered on the Charlotte campus typically meet one night a week or are web-based. Most Charlotte students enroll in one or two classes per semester (three credit-hours is considered part-time, six credit-hours is full-time).
Students in the Charlotte program have access to resources on both campuses. Studen
ts receive student ID numbers, and email/ login accounts at both universities, giving them technology (computer lab and equipment checkout) and library privileges on either campus. Additionally, the Jackson Library at UNCG provides a mail service to distance students for materials not available at UNCC.
Founded in 1965, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a large public university with more than 25,000 students and a campus that stretches over a thousand acres.
